Daniel Chandler
Daniel Chandler is an economist and philosopher based at the London School of Economics (LSE). He is the Research Director of the Programme on Cohesion and Conflict at LSE. Chandler’s work focuses on inequality, social justice, and the application of political philosophy to real-world policy. He is heavily influenced by the work of John Rawls, one of the 20th century's most important political philosophers.\n\nHe is the author of Free and Equal: What Would a Fair Society Look Like?. In this ambitious book, Chandler attempts to revive liberalism by applying Rawls's "veil of ignorance" thought experiment to modern problems. He proposes concrete policies—such as universal basic income and workplace democracy—to create a society that balances individual freedom with economic equality. Chandler’s work is an intellectual defense of a more just and equitable capitalism.
